| Clem Rooker, along with his brother Cleetus (who would later become The Thicket) were the sinister “Hopscotch Killers.” Operating out of Idaho, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada, they killed all their victims on the spot where a person can stand in all four states at one time. The idea was that the legal rights to the murder trials would be tied up over which state got them, and Cleetus and Clem could kill with impunity. Not so, due to the F.B.I. Upon his capture, Clem was sentenced to death sentences from all four states. His neck snapped because of Idaho’s hanging, but he survived- amazingly with all of his motor skills stil intact. He then withstood Nevada’s gassing, Utah’s electric chair, and Colorado’s lethal injection. Having beaten them all, he laughed and prepared for his release... right into the AMPUTHEATRE where the Evil Wardens, impressed by Clem’s tenacity, named him “Nine Lives.” With his superhuman powers of electricity and poison generation, Nine Lives wishes to severely punish his barbed-wired brother, whom he blames for their imprisonment. | |||||||||

With strength, stamina and outstanding knockdown capability, Nine Lives is out for a brawl. Once he batters down his prey, his Evil Deeds crackle to life: throwing lightning, electrifying blood pools, emanating cyanide gas- even cooking people alive in his grip. That, and he doesn’t drop dead when his health fizzles out. |
